Getting out of the house early on was important to me as a new mom as I thrive on a busy and social filled schedule. I feel I’m rediscovering Copenhagen all over again both in terms of seeing Copenhagen from Margot’s perspective but also learning what places are baby friendly, which ones are not. There are so many logistics I never thought about pre-baby that I now have to think of. Are there stairs? Can I bring my barnevogn inside or do I need to find somewhere to leave it outside. Is there somewhere to change and/or to feed. Is there coffee or food for me nearby. It was important to me to also find places that still made me feel me pre-baby as I navigate this transition into motherhood. Here are 5 of my favorite places that I have so far discovered that I keep returning to.
One.
Arket.
Not only is Arket one of my favorite Scandinavian brands for elevated basics, it also has an amazing baby friendly cafe right in the store. Situated in the heart of indreby (historical downtown of Copenhagen) in the old post office building on Købmagergade. At the entrance is a hidden elevator disguised as marble stairs — just press the button for assistance at the top of the stairs on the left side and an employee will come and turn it into an elevator for you. They also have a large bathroom with a changing table in the back near the dressing rooms. I found this to be one of my go-to nursing spots. It’s conveniently located, usually quite easy to find a place to sit, and I just love their salads. My favorite is the arugula, fennel, citrus salad.

Two.
Glyptotek.
Museums are great places to wander and zone out while the baby is napping. Free on tuesdays, there is little pressure to feel rushed through the museum. I love the interiors and collection of french impressionist paintings. You can come with us on a mini tour of the museum here!
Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek | Dantes Plads 7, 1556 København
Three.
Coffee Collective on Kirsten Bernikowsvej
Another fabulous hidden gem for group meet ups with the moms as it allows for infinite pram parking out in the covered courtyard. Tip: Enter from Strøget directly into the courtyard and use the back entrance to Coffee Collective to avoid the steps. It can sometimes be a bit chilly as it still is a courtyard even though it’s covered so make sure to pack an extra layer.
Coffee Collective | Kristen Bernikows Gade 2, 1105 København
Four.
Delphine.
Located in the hipster neighborhood of Vesterbro, Delphine is a deceivingly spacious restaurant that serving from morning to night. It’s elevated yet simple decor makes me feel like I’m some what put together, without feeling the pressure to get all dolled up for a quick bite or cocktail. Park your pram at the entrance and bring your lift or baby carrier with you to the table. Reservations are highly recommended.

Five.
25 Hours Hotel
This new hotel in the heart of Copenhagen, next to the round tower, is an absolute favorite among my mom friends and I. It’s hip and colorful but also incredibly baby friendly (especially as a group). There are lots of places to park the pram so it’s out of the way and lots of corners to escape to with your babies. Our favorite is the vinyl room as it’s filled with lots of pillows, soft chairs, and indestructible decor which is perfect for the toddlers in our friend group. It’s a spacious hotel lobby, with lots of space to spread out and relax.
